Well, it’s official. We’ve had our first big snow storm here in New Jersey, and I’m already dreaming of warmer places! Who’s with me?? 😂
Though I always find it a little difficult to resist hibernating this time of year, there’s one annual event that always gets me out of the house — and it’s not your typical holiday festival and carolers.
Imagine stepping into a small town off the Jersey shore and being plunged back in time...
You walk a street lined with beautiful and towering Victorian homes.
Christmas lights twinkle at you from rooftops, eaves, and living room windows.
Fellow merrymakers share cups of warm cocoa and freshly-baked holiday goodies.
You feel the spooky magic of Christmas Past.
Did I scare you away?
Don’t worry, this isn’t a ghost town. It’s the Victorian Holiday Festival & House Tour in Ocean Grove, NJ!
If you’re in the area, I highly recommend checking out this event. Think local holiday festival, neat home tours, Christmas decorating ideas, and neighborhood jolly. What more could you want from a crisp December evening?
(Mark your calendars now! December 8th and 9th is closer than we might think...)
Even if Victorian homes aren’t your thing, the atmosphere and decor are worth seeing and appreciating. It will remind you of a simpler life and evoke feelings of times gone by. In some of the homes, I even felt an almost spooky vibe. ;)
If you’re not convinced yet, just remember that you’ll leave with plenty of holiday decor ideas — and a happy belly!
And when you get back, don’t forget to tell me how it went in the comments below. :)
In the meantime, I wish you a wonderful holiday season with your nearest and dearest.
Warmly,
Tammy
