I have some exciting news to share with you! No, I’m not adding a nursery to my home — the formerly little ones are big and walking on their own these days. (*Sniff*)
But… I am making it easier for you to style YOUR space!
Let’s face it, not everyone wants or needs full-service design in their home. (And frankly, it can be pricey, especially with children.)
Sometimes, all you need is a trusted eye to source some pieces that look nice together and will work for your lifestyle.
Which is why I’ve been doing exactly that!
Here, you can find some product boards I put together, full of design inspiration, complementary furniture pieces, and colors that work together in a room. And today, I’m sharing one in particular with you...
A stylishly soothing nursery for both Mama and Baby to enjoy! Let’s look at how this room came together.
The Perfect Nursery Seating for a Tired Mama
As a mother myself, I can tell you that you’ll likely be visiting Baby late at night… and early in the morning... and at all the odd hours in between.
Trust me, you’ll want furniture that’s comfortable and brings you some joy and energy in those exhausted moments!
I love the look of this fiery orange Halton Occasional Chair. The button-tufted backrest and brushed brass legs add a dose of character and style.
It’s not too stylish for your nursery though… polyester upholstery makes it highly stain-resistant. Three cheers!
Now, how about those tired feet?
Every mama knows (or will know, if this is your first go at it) the achy soles of motherhood. This knitted wool pouf is just the right dose of creative and fun, looks classy in the space, and provides the support your hardworking feet need.
A Nursery Crib that Grows with Your Baby
I know I put Mama first, but a crib is probably the one non-negotiable staple of a nursery. Baby needs somewhere to sleep, after all!
I love this crib from Clementine Court. It’s in their “Built to Grow” line, which means you can adjust it as your little one gets bigger. No need to buy several cribs? Yes, please.
This shade of gray also works perfectly with the orange chair and pouf!
Stylish Storage Space for Your Baby’s Nursery
It doesn’t matter what room of your house you’re designing or decorating — storage is probably on your list of must-haves. It’s no different in a nursery!
These Clementine Court Dressers are the perfect size for fitting clothes, linens, pacifiers, and more.
Bonus: The dressers’ updated traditional style looks stunning when paired with the modern chairs and pouf!
Um, can we call a wastebasket “storage?” Let’s say for the moment that it is. ;)
I picked this Orange Zebra Print wastebasket for its pop of color, fun, and style. It keeps the room looking lively and young but classy at the same time. After all, Baby doesn’t have to have ALL the fun.
What Kind of Decor Should Go in a Nursery?
Okay, here are the last two features in this nursery design and, admittedly, two of my favorite pieces.
First up, a pop of pink!
Doesn’t it look soft and calming? While you’re soothing Baby, this bamboo silk rug will be soothing you!
Note: If pink doesn’t feel right for your space, try a deep navy. Or write me and I’ll send some suggestions. :)
Last, our lighting...
I love this stunning Crystal Bud Chandelier from Currey & Company. When you think “traditional” chandelier, you might think “old” or “outdated.” This design is anything but.
I love how they updated traditional curves and candle-inspired lighting with intertwining crystals! The fixture is also fairly small, so you don’t have to worry about it overwhelming your space. Talk about the perfect touch of sparkle for your little prince or princess. :)
Let’s admire the ensemble one more time…
It has all the right feels! Warm. Inviting. Lively. Soothing. Sophisticated. Youthful. Ahh.
